“As a non-drug-and-alcohol user, I think it’sitting good,” he said. “There are no negatives.”
Mandatory employee drug testing is illegal in Canada inasmuch as it discriminates opposed to drug-dependent candidates by means of human-rights laws because addiction is defined viewed like a disability.

EL PASO –People who want to work for the county will be subject to drug testing and background checks before they’re hired beginning in fiscal year 2008-09.
That is one of the decisions made by the County Commissioners Court during its budget sitting Thursday.
“I believe that race who want to work beneficial to the county should submit to a pre-employment drug and background order for money,” County Judge Anthony Cobos said. “A public entity has a sort of exposure and deep pockets. There’s a lot of liability.”
He said it’s better to weed out potential employees who use drugs to diminish chances of accidents, recklessness, negligence and workers’ compensation claims that are partly to be paid to a body’s drug use.
Cobos said the new hiring practices would deter some objectionable workers from ever applying at the county.
“These are good jobs,” Cobos said.

SALT LAKE CITY – A proposed drug-testing program for state employees would be narrowly focused on workers with access to sensitive information, a spokeswoman during Gov. Jon Huntsman said.
"This really ought to have existence something that people are refreshing that the state is being proactive about," said spokeswoman Lisa Roskelley.
The qualification came after a labor association accused the Huntsman administration of mounting a broad-scale attack on public employees.
The plan was unveiled at a law-making hearing distance Wednesday by the chief administrator over state agencies and a deputy towards Attorney General Mark Shurtleff.

Dasgupta says he is amazed in what plight gullible populace can be. “Some people think if you pass all this money - and some of these products cost a lot - they will work,” he says. “Not all do. Or, people use them wrong.”
Marijuana is the most abused put drugs into, says Dasgupta.

As an employee of the Tomahawk instead of over 30 years and Sports Editor for most of that time, I was privileged to see many students and athletes finish their high school career and go on to successful walks in life. Firefighters are in contract talks with the City of Austin. The suggestion of random drug tests on Monday caught firefighters off guard.
"Has in that place been some kind of enigma by drug use in the department?” said Larry Watts, AFD facilitator, who questioned the city’session motive.
"Well, yeah. Historically there have been," responded Lowell Denton, City of Austin facilitator.
The city says the decision to implement the new stratagem stems from problems in the past, but incorporation representatives made it clear that they have no knowledge of any "problems."
"I am unaware of a historical problem," said Kregg Phillips, Austin firefighter.

State employees efficiency gain to pass random drug tests, under rules being considered by specify officials as a way to thwart identity theft.
Jeff Herring, executive director of the Utah Department of Human Resource Management, and Kirk Torgensen, chief deputy in the Attorney General’sitting Office, told a legislative committee on Wednesday that the proposed testing would apply to state workers who have access to Utahns’ “highly sensitive” personal data.
Data indicate that some methamphetamine abusers are using identity pilfering to get coin for their drug purchases, while meth distributors are using identity theft to generate income to benefit their drug trafficking, he uttered.
“This electronic identity-theft crime is relatively new, so we’re entering a novel era of how we have to manage our work force, and I think the time is right to take a appearance at doing some of this,” Herring told the Workforce Services and Community and Economic Development Interim Committee.
Herring said the testing would have being purely random, and no management would determine which staffers are pure.
